1031 Exchange Specialist

The 1031 Exchange Specialist is primarily responsible for establishing new 1031 exchange accounts, processing exchange transactions in accordance with established policies and procedures and under the 1031 tax code regulations, ensuring a service level compliant with industry guidelines, executing excellent performance and promoting "candor and respect" in all communications with the exchange and escrow team, clients and management

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Audit exchange files and prepare instructions to accounting for incoming wires, outgoing wires, and balancing of final close out of the exchange.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining social media networks and participating in professional organizations.
• Strict adherence to time schedules and dates as they pertain to 1031 exchange regulations and clients. Monitor, calendar and prepare reminder notices with respect to the 1031 deadline dates.
• Competent with the regulations regarding 1031 exchange transactions and able to discuss 1031 exchange requirements with clients, real estate agents, accountants and attorneys.
• Accountable for meeting business production levels.
• Prepare Exchange Agreements and coordinate closing with escrow companies, accountants, attorneys and title companies.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 3 to 5+ years of Escrow or Exchange experience preferred
• Experience with 1031 Exchange required
