    Pay Rate: Starts at $25.00/hr and can go up DOE

    Purpose: (General description and summary) 

    Provides representative payee support to individuals living in New Narrative residential facilities and in the community. This position supports the agency-based representative payee program by helping clients who are unable to manage their Social Security benefits meet their basic living needs while following SSA rules and regulations.

    Accountabilities: (Responsibilities of the job) 

    • Provide representative payee services for New Narrative service recipients who require a payee. 
    • Assure funds are available so that client basic needs are met for shelter, food, and clothing. 
    • Discuss the terms and conditions of money management services with each individual and draft an agreement that defines the scope of responsibilities, services to be performed, and costs for services.
    • Manage individuals’ funds by paying bills on behalf of the individual and issuing a weekly allowance. 
    • Collaborate with the care team in developing budgets with the individual. 
    • Issue accounts payable requests, create journal entries, input accounts receivable, and reconcile various accounts.
    • Work with SSA on money management issues and follow all SSA rules and regulations.
    • Record deposits in a timely manner into the accounting system, including Social Security checks for individuals on money management.  
    • Initiate checks and deposits and disburse PIF and other monthly allotments by check or through funded debit cards.
    • Maintain client records and complete audits as required by SSA.
    • Hold individual meetings with clients as needed to budget and provide training regarding money management. 
    • Assist the Accounting Department in the month-end processes relating to client funds accounts. 
    • Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.

    Education/Certificates/Licenses/Registration: 

    A Valid driver’s license and insurance required. An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting preferred.  

    Experience/Qualifications:  

    Two years prior work experience providing money management/payee services is strongly preferred. Proficiency in computer skills required. Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals required. Prior experience using Workday accounting software a plus. Must have strong organization skills and ability to multitask.
