The Senior Software Engineer - Workday SOX will support a time-sensitive Workday compliance initiative focused on strengthening IT change management controls, SOX audit readiness, and ongoing reporting processes. This role will partner closely with Internal Audit, Governance Risk and Compliance, Business and Finance stakeholders, the Workday IT support team, and the Invisors Workday partner to complete a year-to-date lookback review and establish a sustainable go-forward process.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct a lookback review of all Workday-related IT changes completed year to date to assess if the change was a) SOX relevant and b) "appropriate" (properly authorized, tested, and aligned with financial reporting integrity).
• Partner with IT, GRC, Internal Audit, Business, and vendor stakeholders to validate findings, resolve gaps, and document remediation needs.
• Partner with IT Workday development and support team to design, implement, and continuously improve automated processes that are durable, scalable, and capable of reliably identifying SOX-relevant Workday changes through audit tags, reporting, and repeatable controls.
• Define procedures for maintaining the go-forward process, including ownership, reporting cadence, quality checks, and escalation paths.
• Evaluate and coordinate vendor-supported solutions where needed, including collaboration with Invisors or other Workday partners.
• Prepare clear status updates, issue summaries, and recommendations for leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Support knowledge transfer and documentation so the process can be sustained beyond the initial engagement period.

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on experience supporting SOX controls, IT general controls, change management, audit evidence, or compliance-related technology processes.
• Ability to analyze change records, system documentation, approvals, test evidence, and reporting outputs to identify control gaps and process improvements.
• Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders across IT, Finance, Internal Audit, GRC, and external consulting partners.
• Strong documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into clear business-facing summaries.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities during a defined project timeline.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with Workday HCM, Workday Finance, Workday administration, Admin APIs, tooling, or related enterprise HR and Finance platforms.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow, change request workflows, audit tagging, automated reporting, or dashboard development.
• Experience supporting remediation activities, control redesign, or process stabilization during audit or compliance cycles.

Base pay rate for this position is $70.00 per hour.
