    Position Overview

    Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to lead the strategic evaluation and migration planning for our Foreign Exchange (FX) trading operations. The primary objective of this role is to analyze our current state, determine the optimal approach for migrating off our legacy Spectrum FX system, and help select and transition to a modern alternate FX trading platform.

    The ideal candidate will possess deep domain expertise in the FX trade lifecycle, SWIFT messaging standards, the current vendor landscape, and specifically hands-on experience with ION and Nasdaq platforms (specifically Spectrum and Calypso).


    Key Responsibilities

    • Migration Strategy: Lead the business analysis and planning phase for migrating operations off the legacy Spectrum FX platform. Design comprehensive migration approaches that minimize disruption to active trading operations
    • Target Platform Evaluation (ION/Calypso): Leverage your in-depth knowledge of platforms like ION and Calypso to assess capabilities, evaluate fit for Zions’ strategic goals, and support the selection of our future-state architecture
    • Requirements Gathering: Collaborate closely with FX traders, back-office operations, and IT teams to document current workflows, define future-state business requirements, and draft technical specifications tailored to the target system
    • SWIFT Integration Analysis: Analyze current messaging architectures and ensure seamless integration of SWIFT messaging protocols (e.g., MT300, MT103, MT202) with the new platform
    • Stakeholder Alignment: Act as the primary liaison between the business unit, internal technology teams, and external vendors during the RFP, evaluation, and implementation phases
    • Process Reengineering: Identify opportunities to optimize the front-to-back FX trade lifecycle, including trade capture, pricing, risk management, and settlement within the context of the new platform’s capabilities


    Required Qualifications

    • Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role within the financial services/banking sector, with a dedicated focus on Foreign Exchange (FX) trading systems
    • Platform Expertise (ION & Calypso): Proven hands-on experience working with, configuring, or implementing ION FX platforms and Calypso, A deep understanding of their respective architectures, modules, and strengths in handling FX products
    • FX Product Knowledge: Deep functional understanding of FX products (Spot, Forwards, Swaps, Options, etc.) and the complete end-to-end trade lifecycle
    • System Migration Expertise: Proven track record in managing or heavily contributing to system migration projects, Direct experience migrating off Spectrum FX is a significant advantage
    • SWIFT Proficiency: Strong expertise in SWIFT messaging protocols and standards related to treasury and FX settlements
    • Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to translate complex business needs into clear, actionable technology requirements. Excellent communication and presentation skills


    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience drafting and managing Vendor RFPs for financial technology
    • Familiarity with modern integration architectures (APIs, microservices) in a banking environment
