Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Oncology Tele RN with 2+ years of experience and required Epic charting proficiency for a day shift acute care hospital position.

Details

• Medical Surgical Oncology unit within an acute care hospital
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 AM-7:30 PM)
• Required to work every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within scope and service line to meet facility needs
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (Missouri or Compact) required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Med/Surg Tele or Oncology
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS, and Fire Safety
• Required Epic charting system experience
• Skills required: IV therapy/phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, isolation precautions/PPE, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Preferred skills: accessing/managing ports, administration and monitoring of chemotherapy, and PCA medication management

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to a Med/Surg Oncology patient population, including chemotherapy monitoring and cardiac telemetry
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Local candidates within 75 miles are not accepted
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
• Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
• Standard travelers may work up to an 18-month period before requiring a 3-month break in service
• Navy scrub color required
