Position OverviewWe are seeking a dependable and mechanically inclined Machine Setup / Operator & Maintenance Technician to join a manufacturing team. This position involves setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining production machinery to ensure efficient operations and high-quality products.The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to identify and resolve equipment issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and tear down manufacturing equipment, tooling, and fixtures.
- Perform machine start-up and shutdown procedures.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and make necessary adjustments to maintain production.
- Assist with preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and building components.
- Inspect tooling and equipment before and after production.
- Read and follow work orders, production instructions, and technical drawings.
- Load raw materials into machines and adjust equipment for production.
- Conduct first-piece and ongoing quality inspections to ensure products meet specifications.
- Maintain accurate production documentation and machine setup procedures.
- Identify and report safety concerns, equipment malfunctions, and quality issues.
- Work to minimize scrap, reduce downtime, and improve production efficiency.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Assist other production operators as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous manufacturing, machine operation, setup, or industrial maintenance experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to understand and follow work instructions and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of machine safety and preventive maintenance practices.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable attendance and willingness to learn new equipment and processes.
