Job Summary

Install, maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair production and building equipment, including but not limited to, high speed CNC machines and associated equipment, grinders, laser welders, laser engravers, sonic cleaning equipment, HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, lighting. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

Role and Responsibilities

  • From specifications, written and oral instructions, install, operate, adjust, maintain, repair, modify and troubleshoot all equipment and materials used in the manufacturing operation.
  • Observe all operating conditions and characteristics. Investigate and diagnose malfunctions and take appropriate corrective actions. Record such information and corrective actions taken in CMMS.
  • Participate in the disassembly of equipment during and after tests and determine the physical reaction of components to various conditions. Note wear damage and recommend improvements in design, specification, materials, etc., to improve performance.
  • Under limited direction, maintain company preventative maintenance programs by adherence to schedules, procedures, and documentation.
  • Assume lead role in the installation on all repairs of equipment.
  • Develop operating procedures and equipment specifications as a result of observations. Make recommendations regarding techniques, methods and equipment requirements to engineers and supervision.
  • Perform preventative maintenance duties in accordance with established programs; make recommendations for improvements regarding techniques, methods and equipment requirements to engineers and supervision.
  • Light shoveling of doorways & walkways.
  • Respond to maintenance requests; Maintain complete records of all work performed, to develop a detailed documentation history.
  • Responsible for handling, managing and disposal of hazardous waste.
  • Work with Tool Crib Attendant to identify required spare parts and supplies and determines economical on-hand quantities.
  • Aid the development of building maintenance and safety procedures manuals.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with building tenants, property owner, manager, and outside vendors.
  • Contribute to the preparation of bid specifications for routine service, repairs, and capital improvements.
  • Respond to emergency service calls afterhours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area using 5S principals.
  • Use CMMS system as needed.
  • Duties and responsibility may be added, deleted or revised at any time at the discretion of management.

Qualifications

  • Must have technical, vocational, or on the job training in manufacturing environment.
  • Good understanding of routine preventative maintenance and a strong working knowledge of mechanical mechanisms, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC, as well as a current and valid driver's license.
  • Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office and Outlook and be familiar with electronic work order and preventative maintenance systems and be able to prioritize in a high-volume environment under tight deadlines, controlled budgets, and time constraints.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills is a must.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays to service a 24 hour/7 day per week operation as needed.

Education Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent is required as well as a minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment.

  • Frequent performing repetitive work.
  • Occasional lifting (max. 40 lbs.)
  • Occasional carrying (max. 40 lbs.)
  • Subject to physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts.
  • Constant safety glasses.
  • Constant full PPE.
  • Frequent standing.
