Job Overview

Sigma Inc. is hiring a Production Operator for a manufacturing facility in St. Joseph, Missouri. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates interested in manufacturing, machine operation, production line work, packaging, material handling, or warehouse operations.

The Production Operator will operate manufacturing equipment, follow established production procedures, monitor equipment performance, record production output, and maintain a safe and organized work environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, punctual, detail-oriented, and comfortable performing repetitive tasks in a hands-on manufacturing setting.

Pay: $20.52 per hour. Steel-toe shoes are required.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate production machinery and manufacturing equipment according to established procedures.

• Perform repetitive production and processing tasks while maintaining quality and productivity standards.

• Follow supervisor instructions and make authorized adjustments to equipment or processes as needed.

• Operate equipment such as packers, palletizers, mixers, pellet mills, and forklifts, depending on training and assignment.

• Monitor production operations and report equipment issues or process irregularities.

• Record and report production quantities accurately.

• Follow written and verbal instructions, standard operating procedures, and workplace safety guidelines.

• Maintain attention to detail throughout production and material-handling activities.

• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.

• Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.

• Previous experience in manufacturing, production, machine operation, packaging, or warehouse work is beneficial.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.

• Basic math skills and the ability to record production numbers.

• Strong attention to detail and awareness of workplace safety.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Dependable, punctual, flexible, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

• Ability to learn equipment operation and follow established production procedures.

• Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform hands-on production duties.

• Must be able to wear required PPE, including steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in any of the following areas are encouraged to apply:

Work Schedule and Requirements
