1st Shift Production Supervisor - Precision Machining

We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to oversee daily operations within a precision machining department in Wheeling, IL. This individual will be responsible for leading a team of CNC machinists and machine operators, maintaining production schedules, improving efficiency, and ensuring quality and safety standards are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations within the CNC machining department, including machinists, setup technicians, and machine operators.

• Coordinate production schedules, assign work, and ensure manufacturing deadlines are met.

• Monitor productivity, machine utilization, workflow, and overall department performance.

• Lead, coach, and develop production employees while promoting accountability and teamwork.

• Assist with employee training, performance evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Maintain accurate production records and communicate department performance to management.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

• Experience in metal manufacturing, CNC machining, or precision machining strongly preferred.

• Understanding of manufacturing processes, production scheduling, and shop floor operations.

• Ability to manage production teams, prioritize workloads, and meet deadlines.

• Familiarity with CNC milling, turning, machining setups, or blueprint reading is a plus.

• Experience working in aerospace, automotive, or other precision manufacturing environments is a plus.
