Progressive & Transfer Stamping Press Supervisor (1st Shift) A.J. Rose Manufacturing Company | Avon, OH A.J. Rose Manufacturing is seeking an experienced Progressive & Transfer Stamping Press Supervisor to lead our first-shift press department. This position is ideal for a hands-on leader who is passionate about developing people, building strong teams, and creating a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. Position Summary The Progressive & Transfer Stamping Press Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the stamping department, ensuring production goals, quality expectations, safety requirements, and employee development objectives are achieved. This individual will provide leadership to press operators, setup personnel, and support staff while fostering a positive and engaged work environment. Key Responsibilities - Lead, coach, and develop a team of press operators and setup personnel.
- Foster a culture of respect, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Provide regular employee feedback, performance coaching, and recognition.
- Train and mentor employees to improve technical skills, safety awareness, and overall performance.
- Effectively manage employee relations issues while promoting positive morale and engagement.
- Coordinate daily production activities to meet customer schedules and delivery requirements.
- Monitor staffing levels and work assignments to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and procedures.
- Drive quality initiatives and support corrective actions when issues arise.
- Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, Tool Room, Engineering, and Production Planning teams to resolve production challenges.
- Monitor key performance indicators including safety, quality, productivity, attendance, and scrap.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on process efficiency, waste reduction, and employee involvement.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and performance management activities.
- Maintain accurate production, attendance, and performance records.
Qualifications - Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Experience with progressive and transfer stamping operations is strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, develop, and retain employees.
- Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.
- Demonstrated success building high-performing teams.
- Ability to balance production demands with employee engagement and development.
- Knowledge of manufacturing safety practices and quality systems.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and production reporting systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical or leadership training preferred.
