Tool & Die Maker - 1st Shift A.J. Rose Manufacturing Company | Cleveland, OH A.J. Rose Manufacturing is seeking an experienced Tool & Die Maker to join our 1st shift team. This position plays a critical role in maintaining and improving progressive and transfer stamping dies used in high-volume metal stamping operations. The ideal candidate is a skilled problem solver who takes pride in precision workmanship, supports production teams, and helps drive continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing process. Key Responsibilities - Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain progressive and transfer stamping dies.
- Diagnose tooling issues and make necessary adjustments to ensure efficient production.
- Perform bench work, precision fitting, grinding, machining, and assembly of tooling components.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on dies, fixtures, and related tooling.
- Support production by responding quickly to tooling-related downtime and quality concerns.
- Read and interpret blueprints, tool designs, engineering drawings, and specifications.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams on tooling improvements and new die launches.
- Evaluate die performance and recommend modifications to improve productivity, quality, and tool life.
- Assist with tryouts and startup of new or modified tooling.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
- Follow all safety and quality procedures.
Qualifications - Journeyman Tool & Die Maker certification or equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of Tool & Die experience in a metal stamping environment.
- Strong experience with progressive and transfer dies.
- Ability to operate manual toolroom equipment, including grinders, mills, lathes, and related machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working with close tolerances and precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
