Serves as a member of the Management Development Program (MDP) and participates in ten weeks of Core Training and one year of On-the-Job training (OJT). Core Training responsibilities include participation in classroom training, observations of departmental presentations, interaction with senior management, peer networking, and working in teams on group project assignments. OJT responsibilities vary by department and are assigned by the department manager. The position may be responsible for additional projects assigned by the department manager or Leadership Development Manager

When our clients need financial services outside of their core wealth management solutions, we have the resources to help. Our Wealth Management team will coordinate the delivery of any additional services they need, always with the client's convenience in mind. We can also recommend more comprehensive options if the client, their family, or their business needs specialized expertise.
Department Responsibilities:
You’ll join a small cohort within our Wealth Management division to gain experience on becoming a Wealth Associate. When starting with the team you’ll learn from Wealth Advisors to learn about the Wilmington Trust service processes and the products we offer clients. Additionally, you’ll develop your knowledge of the local market and how it aligns with clients’ needs. Your additional responsibilities could include:
Develop your knowledge of financial markets, Wilmington Trust investment process and wealth offerings, and articulate current and relevant market information
Maintain a knowledge of various bank resources to assist in the facilitation of client services delivery and expand relationships
Serve as support associate to Wealth and Investment advisors as required
Participate in sales effort, continuing to partner with team to develop additional opportunities for clients
HOW YOU CAN GROW YOUR CAREER:
After completion of your first year with the team, you’ll continue your partnership and with continuous training and support work towards building your own portfolio of business, eventually becoming a Wealth Advisor or Investment Advisor Associate. There is the opportunity to gain certifications and work towards continuing your career in a client facing role.
Scope of Responsibilities:
The Management Development Program is a non-rotational, one-year training program for recent college graduates where participants learn about sales, accounting, project management and leadership skills depending upon their career track. Various methods of training include classroom study, divisional orientations, and teamwork on group projects. These fundamentals are coupled with on-the-job training to allow for immediate application in the area for which the participant has been hired.
