    Job Description

Build What"s Next: From MBA to Enterprise Leader

What if your first role after business school gave you full P&L ownership, executive sponsorship, and a mandate to build, not just manage, across Amazon"s largest consumer business? Amazon"s MBA Leadership Development Program (MLDP) is a three-year accelerated leadership experience designed to develop the next generation of enterprise leaders within North America Stores.

This isn"t a rotational program in the traditional sense. It"s a builder"s path - one that develops commercial judgment, product thinking, and cross-functional influence through progressively complex business ownership. You"ll make decisions that impact hundreds of millions of customers, work directly with senior leaders, and help shape how Amazon Stores operates in an AI-first world.

    THE MLDP EXPERIENCE

Amazon Stores is becoming an AI-first organization, and the leaders who will shape its future aren"t just operators. They"re builders. MLDP is an accelerated leadership pipeline that develops product-minded enterprise leaders who can run businesses while simultaneously reinventing how Amazon serves customers.

Over three years, you"ll rotate through strategic leadership roles spanning:

    • Business Ownership: Own a category P&L end-to-end - driving vendor strategy, negotiating multi-million-dollar deals, and making pricing, selection, and profitability decisions that directly impact the customer experience.
    • Product: Define product roadmaps, launch customer-facing experiences, and develop the leadership influence required to drive outcomes without direct authority.
    • Operations: Own buying strategies, optimize supply chain performance, and align cross-functional operations with Amazon"s long-term objectives.

MLDP is more than rotations. It"s Enterprise Challenges sponsored by VPs, executive mentorship, cohort-based development, and the opportunity to build AI-enabled capabilities and operating mechanisms that create lasting value across Amazon Stores. After your first year, you"ll receive dedicated rotation support including career planning, interview preparation, networking, and insights from program alumni.

    Key job responsibilities

MLDP seeks builders - leaders with product-minded curiosity, analytical judgment, learning agility, and a long-term orientation toward creating something better. You thrive in ambiguity, ask the right questions, influence across organizations, and see AI as a strategic advantage, not just a productivity tool. You want P&L accountability, founder-level ownership, and a clear path to enterprise leadership at scale.

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
