2027 Northeast Branch Intern - Multiple Locations

Locations: Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia

Looking for an internship where you can learn how a business actually operates? Our Branch Internship gives you hands-on experience inside one of our local distribution centers, working alongside branch leadership, operations, sales, and customer service teams.

Over the course of the summer, you'll learn the business from the ground up, take ownership of a meaningful project, and gain experience that can prepare you for a full-time opportunity in our Management Trainee (MIT) Program after graduation.

What You'll Do

• Learn the day-to-day operations of a multi-million-dollar distribution center.
• Gain exposure to receiving, warehouse operations, dispatch, delivery, customer service, order entry, and outside sales.
• Work closely with the Branch Manager and branch team to understand how the business operates.
• Shadow experienced sales professionals and learn how we build and maintain customer relationships.
• Take ownership of a strategic summer project and present your work to company leadership.
• Participate in a 3-day visit to our corporate headquarters as part of the internship experience.
• Build practical skills in leadership, communication, problem-solving, time management, and business operations.
• Participate in hands-on branch activities, including occasional handling of building materials.

What We're Looking For

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business, Industrial Distribution, Supply Chain, Operations, Sales, Management, or a related field.
• Expected to graduate within two semesters following completion of the internship.
• Available to work full-time for 10-12 weeks between May and August.
• Demonstrated involvement in work, student organizations, athletics, leadership, or other team-based activities.
• Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• A willingness to learn, take initiative, and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Interest in distribution, operations, sales, leadership, or management.
• Comfortable working in both an office and warehouse environment, including occasionally lifting materials up to 25 pounds.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to successfully complete required pre-employment screenings.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship.

A Plus, But Not Required

• Previous internship, customer service, leadership, sales, or operations experience.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Exposure to distribution, logistics, supply chain, or building materials.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Where You'll Work

• This is an on-site internship based at one of our branch locations in the Northeast Region. You'll spend time working with branch leadership, sales, customer service, and warehouse operations to get a well-rounded view of the business.

This position offers a standardized base pay of $20 per hour. SRS/Heritage considers multiple factors including job related knowledge, skillset and experience when determining the final salary.
