What Youll Do:
As a Travel RN in the PICU, you'll be at the forefront of delivering specialized nursing care to critically ill children. Your responsibilities will include managing ventilators, administering medications, conducting assessments, providing emotional support to patients and families, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Your clinical skills, independence, and compassion will directly contribute to exceptional patient outcomes.
Required Skills:
Valid RN license in Texas or a compact state
Minimum 1 year of pediatric ICU or ventilator management experience
Proficiency in ventilator care and complex pediatric patient management
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA accredited)
Strong clinical assessment and decision-making abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team during night shifts (7 PM 7 AM)
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience with perinatal care or recent pediatric residency training
Additional certifications in pediatric advanced procedures or trauma care
Bilingual abilities to support diverse patient populations
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
At least 1 year of relevant pediatric ICU experience or post-residency practice in pediatrics
Other Requirements:
Willingness to travel and work night shifts in a fast-paced PICU environment
Successful completion of all onboarding, competency validations, and hospital-specific protocols
Must have ventilator and pediatric ICU experience for this urgent assignment
