DESCRIPTION: The WHS department heads will work under the direction of WHS administrators. Meeting times are flexible and will be determined by the building principal. The major responsibilities include but are not limited to: Collaborate on the creation, communication, implementation and monitoring of a yearly School Improvement Plan to ensure alignment with and fulfillment of the WSD Strategic Plan and Big 6 Student Outcomes. Analyze department data (instructional, behavioral, attendance) to support teams in making instructional and/or program decisions. Review requests and allocate Ad Match and Class Mix funds based on building priorities. Gather data and feedback from the department to share at the monthly department head meetings. Attend all meetings/ or provide a substitute in their absence. Establish and communicate a process to seek feedback from all with their team members. Facilitating effective department meetings by: Nurturing your team's culture of trust and interdependency. Developing team goals and providing focus for completion. Upholding team norms. Creating agendas. Modeling a belief in student ability. Engaging in the continuous improvement process to improve student learning. Facilitating the organization and maintenance of instructional unit plans. Surfacing "best practices" through leading collaborative discussion. Identifying and communicating professional development needs. Collaborate with administration outside of scheduled meetings: To provide the best support for teachers. To create and adjust the master schedule. To enhance department alignment and new courses. To manage and allocate department budget. Related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Current certificated member of Wenatchee High School Team. Experience serving in leadership roles preferred. Strong human relations and organizational skills.
