26-27 - Bus Driver

Minimun Qualification:

1. High School Deploma or equivallent is preferred

2. Minimum age of 21 Years old

3. Citizenship, residency or work visa required

4. Three (3) years of general driving experience

5. Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English

6. Must Successfully pass a background check

7. Must successfully pass drug testing and Medical qualification standards on the DOT physical for an CDL License

8. No prior convictions as specified in SDE New Mexico Standards for School Bus Operations

9. Physical abilites to perform the physical tasks required for the position

10. Able to use technolgy to perform transportation services department responsiblities

11. Effective people kills to comminicte

12. Have a valid and current New Mexico commercial driviers license (CDL Class B) with Air Brake, Passenger, and School Bus Endorsement for Bus Drivers or proof that you are in a training program. (to include but not limited to the following)

• Pre Trip Vehicle Inspection
• School Bus Driver Security Training
• Safety Equipment
• Mirrors Adjustment
• Reference Point Driving
• Passenger Management
• Transporting Sutudents with Disabilites Awareness
• Drug and Alcohol Awareness
• First Aid & CPR Training
• Conmplete 4 Part DMV Test for Issuance of Commercial Learners Permit (CLP
• Behind the Wheel Training
• Observation time
• Defensive Driving Course
• Bus Attendant Training
• Complete the Behind-the -wheel skill evaluation test for Issuance of Commercial Drivers License (C) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
