Responsibilities:
Under limited supervision performs care coordination services for patients eligible for the medication assisted therapy program.
This position is the primary nursing oversight for medication assisted therapy program for the inmate population.
This nurse is responsible for assisting the jail health administrator in the development and implementation of program policies and procedures related to the service and support for evidence-based treatment of substance use disorders including opioid use disorder, which may include medications for opioid use disorder.
She/he will oversee nursing activities, education, and training in providing nursing support services to the inmate population for substance use disorders.
Works in hostile environment with detainees and inmates.
Reports to the Director of Nurses.
Education and Experience:
LPN Licensure required upon hire and for duration of employment, 1 year of nursing experience with an administrative background or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities; to include—working knowledge of such programs as: Word, Excel, Goggle Docs.
CPR certificate required upon hire and duration of employment.
Valid North Carolina driver’s license required upon hire and duration of employment. Out of state driver’s license will be accepted only if the individual is a permanent resident of that state.
Must take and successfully pass a pre-employment drug test, as well as submit to random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident drug and alcohol testing.
