2nd Shift | Monday-Friday | Full-Time Penmac Staffing is hiring a Material & Inventory Specialist for a manufacturing facility supporting large-scale production operations. This position is ideal for candidates with strong inventory control experience, computer skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, production teams, and corporate personnel. Important: This is a 2nd shift position, but candidates must be willing to train on 1st shift for 3 to 6 weeks before transitioning to their regular schedule.Requirements for the Material & Inventory Specialist
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Previous inventory, materials, purchasing, receiving, or administrative experience preferred
- Strong computer skills, including spreadsheet creation and data entry
- Experience maintaining inventory records and tracking materials
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Must be willing to submit to a drug screen
- Manufacturing experience is a plus
Material & Inventory Specialist Responsibilities
- Create purchase orders and maintain purchasing documentation
- Develop and maintain spreadsheets to track orders, inventory, and materials
- Communicate with suppliers regarding orders, deliveries, and inventory needs
- Answer, direct, and manage incoming phone calls
- Greet visitors and ensure proper safety requirements are met before entering the facility
- Assist with receiving, inventory control, and materials management functions
- Maintain accurate filing systems and production records
- Coordinate communication between the facility, other company locations, and corporate offices
- Notify supervisors of inventory concerns or operational issues
- Attend meetings and assist with special projects as assigned
- Follow all company policies, standard operating procedures, and safety requirements
Work Environment
- Most duties are performed in an office environment
- Some responsibilities will require work on the manufacturing floor
- Business casual dress code
- Manufacturing setting may include exposure to noise, temperature changes, and production activity
