What You'll Do

As an Overnight General Cleaner, you'll help prepare the airport for the next day's travelers by:

• Cleaning and sanitizing airport terminals, gates, and public areas
• Deep cleaning and disinfecting restrooms
• Sweeping, mopping, auto-scrubbing, burnishing, and floor care
• Cleaning glass, stainless steel, elevators, escalators, and high-touch surfaces
• Emptying trash and recycling containers
• Restocking restroom supplies
• Safely operating commercial cleaning equipment
• Following airport safety procedures and OSHA standards
• Reporting maintenance or safety concerns
• Maintaining high cleanliness and quality standards throughout your shift

Physical Requirements

This is an active position that requires movement throughout the shift.

Applicants should be able to:

• Stand and walk for most of the workday
• Frequently bend, kneel, stoop, reach, and stretch
• Lift, push, and pull up to 80 pounds
• Operate commercial cleaning equipment safely
• Perform repetitive cleaning tasks in a fast-paced environment

Airport Requirements

To work at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, applicants must:

• Be at least 18 years old
• Successfully pass a fingerprint-based background check (10-year history required)
• Obtain and maintain an Airport Security Badge
• Meet all airport security and compliance requirements

Required Identification

Applicants must present one valid government-issued photo ID (Driver's License or State ID) and ONE of the following original documents:

• U.S. Birth Certificate (not laminated)
• U.S. Passport
• U.S. Naturalization Certificate
• Permanent Resident Card
• Employment Authorization Document (EAD)
• Unrestricted Social Security Card (not laminated)

All documents must be original, valid, and the names on all documents must match.
