What You'll Do

As an Overnight General Cleaner, your responsibilities will include:

• Deep cleaning airport terminals, gates, and public areas
• Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms throughout the airport
• Sweeping, mopping, auto-scrubbing, burnishing, and performing floor care as assigned
• Cleaning glass, stainless steel, elevators, escalators, and other high-touch surfaces
• Emptying trash and recycling containers
• Restocking restroom supplies
• Safely operating industrial cleaning equipment
• Following OSHA, airport safety, and chemical handling procedures
• Inspecting assigned areas to ensure quality standards are met
• Reporting maintenance or safety concerns to supervisors

What We're Looking For

We're looking for individuals who are:

• Reliable and punctual
• Detail-oriented and take pride in their work
• Comfortable working overnight shifts
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable performing physical work throughout the shift
• Available to work weekends
• Able to communicate in English or Spanish

No previous airport experience is required. We provide training for the right candidates.

Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding position that requires employees to remain active throughout the entire shift.

Applicants must be able to:

• Stand and walk for approximately 94% of the work shift
• Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and stretch
• Lift, push, and pull up to 80 pounds
• Safely operate cleaning equipment and machinery
• Perform repetitive cleaning tasks in a fast-paced environment

Airport Requirements

To work at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, all applicants must:

• Be at least 18 years old
• Successfully pass a fingerprint-based background check (10-year history required)
• Obtain and maintain an Airport Security Badge
• Meet all airport security and compliance requirements

Required Identification

Applicants must present one valid government-issued photo ID (State ID or Driver's License) and ONE of the following original documents:

• U.S. Birth Certificate (not laminated)
• U.S. Passport
• U.S. Naturalization Certificate
• U.S. Permanent Resident Card
• U.S. Employment Authorization Document (EAD)
• Unrestricted Social Security Card (not laminated)

All documents must be original, valid, and the names on all documents must match.
