About the Role

As a Production Supervisor at Wheatland TubeZekelman Industries, you will coordinate labor assignments and lead employee development while ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality plant operations. This role supports production performance by enforcing safety procedures, maintaining quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.

You will collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, and other departments to foster a positive work environment, resolve operational challenges, and ensure production goals are achieved. This is a full-time, onsite role located in Rochelle, IL.

This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and demonstrates strong communication, problem-solving, and team development skills.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop work schedules to ensure appropriate staffing and achievement of production goals.

  • Delegate responsibilities to team members and maintain accountability for performance outcomes.

  • Provide training and cross-training, conduct evaluations and performance reviews, and initiate disciplinary actions as necessary.

  • Hire, coach, develop, monitor, and evaluate team members and recommend personnel actions for approval.

  • Perform quality checks on sites and equipment to ensure customer and quality standards are met.

  • Generate and review daily operational reports to ensure shift continuity and address issues proactively.

  • Monitor and supervise cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records.

  • Identify, communicate, and escalate maintenance needs to minimize operational disruptions.

  • Collaborate with the Quality Department to develop and oversee site quality standards.

  • Develop and implement action plans to improve plant performance and operational efficiencies.

  • Document workplace injuries, recommend corrective actions, and follow up to reinforce safety priorities.

  • Lead and promote healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Who You Are

  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

  • Associate degree with an emphasis in management or supervision preferred, or equivalent experience.

  • Working knowledge of shop floor systems such as MES, SAP, or similar platforms.

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.

  • Strong communication, leadership, and team-building abilities.

  • Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize in a production-driven environment.

  • Ability to maintain regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance.

Annual Salary: $71,000 - $97,500/Year
