3rd shift Welding Supervisor

Hiring Opportunity: Youngstown Ohio

Our client is looking to hire a 3rd shift Weld Supervisor for their facility in Youngstown Ohio! Our client is a leader in producing high-density, low-cost steel counterweights, and weldments.

The Weld Supervisor would be responsible for managing employees attendance and hours worked, training new welders, ensuring safety standards are met, and assisting the welding team.

Qualified candidates would need experience with being a supervisor, flux core, and manufacturing experience.



Job Responsibilities:

- Coordinate the daily activities of the weld teams
- Manage employee's attendance and hours worked
- Evaluate employee performance
- Utilize and enforce progressive discipline policy as needed
- Delegate production assignments to appropriate teams and personnel
- Train and coach new and current employees
- Inspect all materials and equipment to detect malfunctions
- Lead all employees in company safety initiatives, foster a safe work environment and enforce/support safety policies and rules
- Report safety hazards to supervision/mgt.
- Attend monthly all shop meetings

Job Requirements:

- Ability to maintain production operations through supervising, planning, scheduling, and monitoring labor productivity
- Strong leadership and coaching skills
- Ability to read blueprints
- Comfort with computers and programs like office and excel
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to problem solve and resolve issues
- Knowledge of manual and mechanical welding techniques
