4K Paraprofessional

Little Prairie Primary School is seeking a compassionate, patient, and dependable Four-Year-Old Kindergarten Paraprofessional to support classroom teachers in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment. The ideal candidate will assist with instructional activities, classroom management, and the daily care of 4K.

This position is part-time, the hours being Monday-Friday 11:30-3:15.

Paraprofessionals are essential team members.

Responsibilities of Regular Education Classroom Paraprofessionals within the District may include:

• Support classroom teachers in materials and classroom preparation
• Support students through classroom and building routines
• Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility with respect to assignments, schedules and all other paraprofessional duties
• Support the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities
• Provide individual and small-group instruction to students under the direction of the teacher
• Supervise students in various settings including the classroom, hallway, recess, and field trips
• Assist students with personal needs, including toileting, dressing, and feeding, as necessary
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment
• Monitor student behavior and support positive behavior reinforcement strategies
• Communicate effectively with teachers and staff
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the teacher or school administration
• Demonstrate dependability, good attendance, punctuality and productive use of time during working hours

• May require kneeling, bending, and sitting on the floor

• Exposure to noise and frequent movement
