Robotics Coach - After School Program- September-February

Kankakee Valley Intermediate School is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Robotics Coach to lead our after-school robotics program.

Job Description: One (1) session per year- The purpose of the Robotics Club is for students to learn how to code and write commands for robots through play. By programming and controlling robots, students will step into the world of science, acquiring knowledge and skills that will be useful and applicable beyond the classroom. The Robotics Coach will be responsible for selecting students, communicating expectations to both students and parents, and providing meaningful weekly activities. The Robotics Coach will supervise competitions and coordinate all related logistics. The season runs from September through February. The team consists of 9-10 students. The team will practice once a week for 1 ½ hours. The students participate in 2-4 competitions each year.

Qualifications:

• Experience working with school-aged students
• Strong interest in STEM, robotics, coding, and engineering concepts
• Ability to foster teamwork and encourage student growth
• Teaching license preferred but not required
