4th Grade Teacher – Self-Contained.

Position Overview:
Elite School Staffing is seeking a certified or non-certified dedicated and enthusiastic 4th Grade Teacher to join our team within the Service Learning District for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a self-contained classroom position, with the teacher responsible for providing instruction across all core subject areas, including English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. The ideal candidate will create an engaging, structured, and supportive classroom environment that promotes academic achievement, student growth, and a positive love of learning.

Key Responsibilities:
Instruction & Curriculum Implementation:
  • Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction across all core subject areas.
  • Develop and implement daily lesson plans that address the academic and developmental needs of fourth-grade students.
  • Utilize differentiated instructional strategies to support students with varying learning styles, abilities, and academic needs.
  • Incorporate hands-on activities, collaborative learning, technology, and other instructional resources to enhance student engagement.
  • Establish clear learning objectives and provide instruction that prepares students for grade-level expectations and assessments.
Assessment & Student Achievement:
  • Develop and administer formative and summative assessments to monitor student understanding and academic progress.
  • Analyze assessment data to identify student strengths, areas for improvement, and opportunities for targeted support.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, assessments, and student progress using district-approved systems.
  • Provide students with timely and constructive feedback regarding their academic performance.
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student achievement, progress, and areas of concern.
Classroom Management & Student Development:
  • Establish and maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Implement consistent classroom management strategies and behavioral expectations aligned with school-wide practices.
  • Foster student responsibility, independence, collaboration, and positive peer relationships.
  • Support students' social-emotional development and encourage a growth mindset.
  • Supervise students throughout the school day, including during assigned lunch, recess, hallway, and other school duties.
Professional Collaboration & Communication:
  • Collaborate with grade-level teachers, instructional coaches, paraprofessionals, intervention staff, and administrators to support student success.
  • Participate in professional development, staff meetings, parent conferences, and school improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain open and professional communication with families and school personnel.
  • Uphold district policies, confidentiality requirements, and professional standards.

Qualifications:
Education & Certification:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field preferred.
  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate elementary endorsement preferred.
Experience:
  • Previous elementary classroom or instructional experience preferred.
  • Experience teaching multiple core subject areas in a self-contained classroom preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong classroom management and instructional delivery skills.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and address the diverse needs of elementary students.
  • Proficiency with educational technology and digital learning platforms.
  • Commitment to creating a positive, engaging, and academically focused classroom environment.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, and actively engage with students throughout the instructional day.
  • Ability to lift and carry classroom materials and instructional supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, and other school environments.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
