      Job Description

      About Level Legal

Level Legal is a fully distributed eDiscovery and legal-services partner built on this simple truth: "We care deeply about the people we serve, and we find real purpose in solving problems." We deliver full-spectrum forensics, eDiscovery, and managed review solutions for law firms and corporate legal teams who need defensible outcomes, delivered with transparency and predictability.

Our eDiscovery practice is growing, and this role is central to that growth. You will help shape how we design and deliver, bringing rigor, expertise, and a genuine care for our clients to a team that is raising the bar in this space.

      The Role

You are an experienced eDiscovery project manager who owns matters end to end - from collections through final production - and is genuinely hands-on in the platform every day. You build and run the work yourself: structured analytical reviews (STRs) and saved searches, batch sets, data loads, productions, and everything in between.

You are also the bridge between the technology and the review. You'll partner closely with our review managers on review workflows, coding, QC, and the decisions that keep a review defensible, on budget, and on schedule. You keep the case team, the reviewers, and the client moving in step.

You thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Productions don't always respect business hours, and you're someone who can be counted on when a matter demands it, remaining calm under pressure, organized, and exacting when it counts most.

      What You'll Own

      Day-to-day eDiscovery operations

      • Run the platform, daily. Build and run STRs and saved searches, build batch sets, load and process data, handle exceptions, run productions, and manage the database, personally executing every stage, not just directing it.
      • Own the full EDRM. Drive matters from collection and processing through review support and final production, keeping the data accurate, organized, and defensible the whole way through.
      • Support the review. Set up and maintain review workspaces, build the views, searches, and batch sets reviewers rely on, and partner with review managers to keep review efficient, accurate, and on track. Onboard, train, and troubleshoot case teams and review attorneys on the platform so they can work in it with confidence.
      • Administer the workspace. Handle the day-to-day platform administration - creating user accounts, assigning and adjusting permissions, resetting logins, and troubleshooting access - so the right people have the right access at the right time.
      • Handle the non-standard ones. Comfortable when a matter doesn't fit the standard playbook - you find a sensible, defensible path forward rather than forcing a templated approach that doesn't meet the client's needs.
      • Defensibility first. Every workflow you run is documented and defensible under the FRCP, applicable Model Rules, ESI protocols, and case law.

      Right-fit technology, analytics, and method

      • Recommend the best fit. Evaluate each matter on its facts and data, then recommend the platform, analytics, and workflow that genuinely serves it.
      • Apply analytics with judgment. Knowledge of search-term best practices, formatting, and syntax, plus hands-on use of concept searching and clustering, email threading, near-dupe detection, and TAR/CAL - with judgment about when each is the right call, and when it isn't.
      • Use AI with discipline. Apply GenAI and emerging tools thoughtfully and defensibly where they add real value and are always aligned to defensibility expectations under the FRCP, Model Rules, and case law. Support the design and execution of validation workflows, including sampling methodologies, precision and recall measurement, and documentation.?
      • Stay current. Track case-law developments and emerging litigation technology, and advise case teams and clients on safe, ethical, defensible adoption.
      • Know the platforms. Deep, hands-on command of Relativity/RelativityOne at a minimum.
      • Work the data layer. Comfort with relational databases, structured and unstructured data, and the integrity and defensibility of both. You can manipulate large data sets without flinching.

      Running the matter

      • Be the point of contact. Serve as the primary point of contact for attorneys, paralegals, clients, review managers, and vendors, conducting intake meetings, scoping requirements, schedules, and budgets, and keeping everyone confident in the plan.
      • Own timelines and budgets. Develop cost estimates, manage timelines and deliverables, and advise on the issues that affect cost and schedule.
      • Quality-control everything. Run and QC productions against negotiated specs, test inbound and outbound deliverables, and maintain defensible records of the work.
      • Manage vendors when needed. Coordinate and quality-check vendor services and monitor schedules and budgets, keeping standards high.
      • Track and document everything. Maintain project trackers and status logs so every step of the eDiscovery process is documented, auditable, and easy to hand off. Nothing falls through the cracks.
      • Bring solutions, not just problems. Spot challenges early, escalate with judgment, and arrive with a recommended path forward. Generate and share progress, spend, and KPI reporting on a regular cadence.

      Lifting the team

      • Lead by doing. Set workflow direction and methodology, and work alongside the team in the data, mentoring by demonstration, not just instruction.
      • Standardize what works. Capture best practices, improve quality control, and codify repeatable, documented processes built from the work you and the team are doing.

      The Level Legal Difference

Most providers run every client through the same machine. We don't. Our differentiator is service that feels personal and a solution that fits the matter. Clients feel genuinely taken care of, and they get an approach designed for their facts rather than our convenience. We hire for that instinct: people who make clients and colleagues feel looked after, and who are as easy to work with as they are capable.

      What You Bring

      • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. We are looking for an experienced expert regardless of degree.
      • 5+ years of hands-on eDiscovery/legal technology experience with a law firm, corporate legal, or ALSP/vendor.
      • Current, hands-on mastery of Relativity and RelativityOne. You configure, search, build STRs and batch sets, and troubleshoot daily, plus working command of the full EDRM from collection through production.
      • Proven ability to manage matters end to end, from collections to final production, on time and on budget.
      • A working understanding of how document review operates - review workflows, coding, and QC - and a track record of partnering effectively with review teams.
      • Working knowledge of the litigation process and where discovery fits within it, and an understanding of how technology supports litigation efforts.
      • Knowledge of search-term best practices, formatting, and syntax, plus hands-on experience with analytics for the matter: concept searching/clustering, email threading, near-dupe detection, and TAR/CAL.
      • Thoughtful, defensible understanding of how and when to apply AI and emerging tools in legal workflows, not as a default, but where they genuinely add value.
      • Proficiency with dtSearch and regular expressions to manipulate large data sets, and comfort with relational/structured data.
      • A proactive, anticipatory approach to client service with the instinct to read what a client needs and deliver it before they ask, and to manage expectations so they turn to us time after time.
      • Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to make technical decisions clear to non-technical audiences and give them confidence in the outcome.
      • Comfort in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, with availability to work occasional evenings or weekends as a matter's deadlines demand.

      Location and reporting

      • Remote. Must reside in the U.S.
      • Reports to the CTO/VP of eDiscovery.
