Program: A Guided Journey – Healthy Start EnhancedProgram Position: Community Consortium CoordinatorReports to: Maternal Child Health LeadershipJob specification: 40 hours/week. This is an hourly, non-exempt, grant-funded position focused on community and volunteer support for Care Ring, including Consortium engagement and Food Pantry volunteer support.Job Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt Full-TimeSalary: $25.00/hourSchedule: Monday–Friday, full-time (40 hrs/week); occasional evening hours required to facilitate bi-monthly Consortium meetings and weekends.Please note that this role is a grant funded position.SummaryCare Ring, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing health services for the uninsured, underinsured, or those lacking access to affordable, high-quality health care, seeks a Community Consortium Coordinator. This is a relationship-driven role focused on community and volunteer support for Care Ring: keeping Consortium members, families, and community partners engaged; facilitating Consortium meetings and tracking Consortium data and reporting; and building and sustaining a strong volunteer base for the Food Pantry, including back-up shift coverage for our A Guided Journey Department.ResponsibilitiesCommunity & Consortium Engagement
  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate full Consortium meetings and workgroup meetings, including the bi-monthly Consortium meeting held the 2nd Thursday of the month from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
  • Facilitate strategic planning and guide consortium members in developing comprehensive action plans to advance the consortium's mission and objectives, in coordination with the Advisory Care Team (ACT), to ensure cohesive collaboration, alignment of priorities, and integration of stakeholder insights.
  • Maintain regular, timely communication with consortium members, families, and community partners — including informing them of community events hosted by Care Ring — to keep them engaged with the Consortium.
  • Represent the consortium and its priorities to individuals, the public, and other organizations at the local, state, and national levels.
  • Attend A Guided Journey (AGJ) Healthy Start program meetings every other Thursday (10:00 am – 12:00 pm), including graduation events in April and October.
  • Follow up on emails and actionable tasks in a timely manner.
Volunteer Support
  • Own day-to-day recruitment, communication, and retention of regular Food Pantry volunteers.
  • Monitor and respond to the volunteer inbox on an ongoing basis, routing inquiries and confirming shift sign-ups.
  • Maintain consistent, proactive communication with volunteers to support engagement and reduce turnover.
  • Support volunteer recognition and follow-up communication to sustain positive volunteer relationships.
  • Support the development and execution of targeted outreach initiatives that connect Food Pantry clients to additional Care Ring programs and broader community resources.
  • Provide back-up and fill-in coverage at the Food Pantry during scheduled shifts, including basic inventory tracking and adherence to food safety standards.
  • Help ensure the Food Pantry has adequate regular volunteer coverage for scheduled shifts.
Data & Reporting
  • Manage and track data reporting for the Consortium, including meeting attendance, member engagement, and activity documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of volunteer engagement and Food Pantry service statistics.
  • Contribute to program evaluation, outcome reporting, and performance measurement initiatives — including preparing regular reports summarizing Consortium and volunteer program data — to demonstrate program impact and inform continuous improvement efforts.
Meetings & Administrative Support
  • Attend mandatory weekly team meetings on Mondays.
  • Attend monthly budget meetings with the Project Manager, and work collaboratively with the Project Manager to ensure contract spending is aligned according to the budget.
  • Assist with other administrative and outreach tasks supporting consortium engagement and Food Pantry operations, as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required; Associate's degree in Human Services or a related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in administrative support, customer service, volunteer coordination, or community outreach.
  • Experience recruiting, communicating with, and retaining volunteers preferred.
  • Experience tracking and reporting programmatic or attendance data (e.g., in Excel or a database) preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable engaging with diverse families, community partners, and volunteers.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated and takes initiative.
  • Basic understanding of, or willingness to learn, food safety standards and food pantry inventory practices.
  • Reliable transportation to support Food Pantry shifts and community events.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
