Job Description: Registered/ Behavioral Therapist --- PER-DIEM for AFTERNOON/EVENING HOURS 3:00-7:00PM

Location: 17 Watchung Plaza Montclair, NJ, 07042

Hours:  After school and weekends, possibility of weekdays
Location of service: At MST Facility
 

As a Behavioral Technician with Montclair Speech Therapy, you will work with individuals with neurodiverse abilities to implement behavior plans designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). The technician will provide direct one-on-one therapy to clients ranging from 2 to 12 years old in the center. The technician will also collect data on client progress, communicate with the BCBA on a regular basis and participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities. Your contribution here is imperative for these children to develop interpersonal, social, and life skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement behavior plans designed by BCBAs
  • Provide direct one-on-one therapy to clients
  • Collect data on client progress
  • Communicate with BCBA on a regular basis
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities
  • Teach specific skills required for skill acquisition and maladaptive behavior reduction.
  • Maintain a clean work environment.
  • Nurture a child’s social abilities.
  • Assist in the maintenance of facility cleanliness.
 

Requirements:

  • Prior Experience with Children: May include work as a nanny, daycare provider, preschool teacher, babysitter, paraprofessional, etc. Physical demands may include kneeling, squatting, walking, running, and getting up and down from the floor repeatedly while interacting with the client during therapeutic tasks.
  • Patience/Interpersonal Communication Skills: Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Basic Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel and EMR systems; Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Certification: High School Diploma required. Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) preferred but not required.
