What You'll Be Taking On
As an Access Control Maintenance Mechanic, you'll work with a traveling team installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing security gates, fencing, and automated access control systems across the country.
Your work will include:
Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical and electrical issues with automated gates and access control equipment.
Performing low-voltage electrical work, including wiring gate operators, motors, sensors, keypads, and access control systems.
Reading and interpreting electrical diagrams, wiring schematics, blueprints, and project specifications.
Installing, maintaining, and repairing security gates, fencing, and access control components.
Performing preventative maintenance to keep systems operating safely and efficiently.
Using electrical testing equipment, including multimeters, to diagnose wiring and component issues.
Working with concrete, welding, and heavy equipment as needed.
Safely loading, securing, and transporting tools, materials, and equipment.
Communicating project progress and working closely with your crew and project managers.
Maintaining safe, clean, and organized jobsites.

What It Takes to Be Part of Empire

The right person will bring:
2+ years of construction, mechanical maintenance, or related field experience.
Hands-on electrical experience, preferably with low-voltage wiring, electrical troubleshooting, motors, or control systems.
Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical or electrical equipment.
Familiarity with electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and electrical testing tools.
Experience with concrete, welding, or operating heavy equipment is a plus.
Ability to read construction drawings and follow project specifications.
Willingness to travel nationwide approximately 50–75% of the time, with trips lasting up to two weeks.
A valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
OSHA 10 certification; OSHA 30 is a plus.
A commitment to safety, reliability, and doing quality work.
