We are seeking an experienced Account Executive to join our Houston team. This role is responsible for generating revenue through the strategic purchase of scrap metal from both new and existing clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Purchase scrap metal from suppliers and customers
  • Leverage industry and market knowledge to negotiate competitive pricing
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients
  • Identify and secure additional business within current accounts
  • Solicit and develop new business opportunities
  • Respond to customer inquiries and provide quotations
  • Inspect materials for quality grade and value
  • Write up customer scale tickets and assist with weighing materials
  • Support inventory control processes
  • Stay current on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activity
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of scrap metal valuation methods
  • Familiarity with handling and processing various metals
  • Proven negotiation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and solution-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel
  • Demonstrated customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the scrap metal industry
  • Previous sales experience preferred
  • Customer service experience required

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Primarily office-based work in Houston, Texas
  • Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required
  • Prolonged sitting required
  • May occasionally lift and carry light weights
