An account executive (AE) manages client relationships, drives revenue growth, and owns the full sales cycle from initial prospecting to closing contracts. They act as the primary link between potential or existing clients and internal company teams.
Key Responsibilities
Prospecting & Lead Generation: Find new sales leads through cold calls, emails, networking, and referrals.
Sales Pipeline Management: Own the full sales cycle, run product demonstrations or presentations, and track metrics in a CRM.
Negotiation & Closing: Negotiate contract terms, handle objections, and close deals to meet or exceed monthly and quarterly quotas.
