About the Position

As an Account Executive, you will be responsible for providing overall strategy and leadership for regional and/or national business development and customer facing activities. Creates partnerships with business unit market leaders and manages strategies to win project work with existing and potential customers. This position creates positive community relationships, establishes strong networks, provides leadership and builds teamwork both external and internal to the organization and works to set and accomplish annual sales and revenue targets, all under the guidance of the Company’s mission statement, corporate vision, and code of conduct/ethical business practices, and in alignment with all Company policies, procedures, key objectives, and regulations. This position functions as the liaison between business development, preconstruction, and marketing.

  • Demonstrates experience in account management and leadership, with a background in marketing and/or sales preferably within Network Infrastructure / Security / Audio Visual / Wireless services, focused on business development and growth strategy, solution and pricing development, organizational design, and client relationship building and networking.

 

Day in the Life

  • Partners with senior management and other Company marketing, operations, and business development personnel to create key objectives, strategies, priorities and develop key work processes with marketing and client relationship work. Collaborates with various internal departments to create and implement business development strategies that will expand market share, increase brand awareness, revenue, and profits, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Leads positioning activities of the business development team by participating in strategic business planning, developing internal and external communications, coordinating prequalification efforts with targeted customers, initiating customer feedback, and performing market trends analysis as needed. Creates value streams and offers services which are market competitive to the end user. Collaborates with project teams to create problem resolution for issues identified.
  • Acquires new customers and projects through sourcing, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business deals to hit annual sales and revenue targets. Builds relationships and conducts business development activities with future clients and develops new markets with existing clients to maintain and grow customer base, increase sales, and attain revenue goals. Cultivates new opportunities to increase regional and business growth by creating rewarding relationships and client satisfaction.
  • Researches, develops, and establishes initial contact with potential clients for early lead identification of new project opportunities. Qualifies targeted opportunities that lead to project awards. Partners with project managers and estimating teams to share documentation, develop customer quotes and ensure client priorities are satisfied. Negotiates and secures/closes new opportunities and business deals.
  • Manages and maintains Company brand standards, including logos, forms, apparel, merchandising, signs, and labels. Creates and assembles proposals, Request for Quotes (RFQs), Request for Information (RFIs), Request for Proposals (RFPs) and interview presentations. Creates quality promotional marketing and sales strategies. Performs technical writing in support of proposals, qualification, and branding materials.
  • Delivers, presents, monitors and measures prospect and proposal activities, including monthly sales revenue and budgets. Completes proposals with a focus on accuracy and in compliance with the owner’s specifications. Creates thorough documentation of customer requirements and reporting on customer behaviors and sales.
  • Creates and maintains quality marketing materials, such as presentations, newsletters, photos, images, digital campaign information, and letters.
  • Navigates the full sales lifecycle: prospecting, lead generation, specification, proposal, negotiation, and closing.
  • Leads positioning activities of the business development team by participating in strategic business planning, developing internal and external communications, coordinating prequalification efforts with targeted customers, initiating customer feedback, and performing market trends analysis as needed.
  • Ensures schedules are met and various aspects of the proposal and marketing materials are persuasive and accurate. Negotiates and secures/closes new opportunities when presented. Manages the vendor sourcing process.
  • Participates in developing a strong pipeline of new business opportunities through direct or indirect customer contact. Partners with new and existing customers to strengthen relationships, grow the customer base, expand service offerings, increase sales, and develop proactive plans for growth and expansion. Maintains client, partner, and vendor contact information.
  • Reviews complex financial/business analysis and reports prepared by team members. Provides regular and high-quality communications, mentoring and teambuilding to staff and other co-workers as needed. Maintains appropriate level of confidentiality with all individual vendor and customer pricing and other key proprietary information essential to strong business practices and influences others to do the same.
  • Identifies, plans, manages, coordinates, and attends trade shows, conferences, workshops, and other networking events as needed. Collaborates with other account management team members to develop and implement strategies for successful social media presence.
  • Establishes and cultivates relationships with potential clients through digital presence, cold calls, meetings, and continued follow-up.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in business administration, marketing, construction management or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience with account management and leadership, marketing and/or sales, preferably in Low voltage services, business development and growth strategy and solution, pricing, organizational design, and client relationship building and networking. CoreNet/IFMA/BOMA memberships and participation in national and regional events is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in achieving or exceeding annual sales targets and managing a high-volume workload while providing strong attention to quality. Proven track record of successful facility services business development on a national or regional level
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management and Content Management System software, and business intelligence tools (e.g.; SalesForce and PowerBI). Extensive experience with traditional and digital marketing tools, research methods using data analytics software and social media marketing. Broad experience with other software and financial systems is desired
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex financial data and business strategies and develop innovative solutions. Expert-level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing and executing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment. Skills to work closely with proprietary information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to motivate and work collaboratively with senior technical and business leaders and subject matter experts, executive management, and client groups on various projects.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and mathematical skills. Strong financial acumen, critical thinking skills and detailed orientation. Skills to read, interpret and understand contracts, plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong listening, presentation, negotiation, conflict management and persuasion skills, and the ability to influence potential customers.
  • Exceptional business development, relationship building and client communication skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including high quality documentation and report preparation.
  • Excellent leadership, collaboration, teamwork, organizational, problem solving and interpersonal communication skills. Strong hiring, coaching and mentoring skills.

 

Travel

  • Occasional travel may be required.

 

Salary Range

  • $120,000 - $160,500, annually, based on experience and qualifications.
