ACCOUNT MANAGER - 1st Shift

St. Louis, MO

Schedule: 1st shift, Monday to Friday

Pay: $75,000 to $85,000 per year

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

An established St. Louis metal fabrication manufacturer, producing fabricated steel tubing and welded assemblies, is adding an Account Manager. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be the primary point of contact for customers, building strong relationships, understanding their needs and coordinating with internal teams to deliver solutions.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Communicate with customers by phone, email and face to face to make sure their needs are understood and addressed
• Build strong customer relationships to keep existing business and win new customers
• Work with internal departments to make sure every customer request is fulfilled
• Resolve complaints and track every process tied to customer requirements
• Document internal and external communications and maintain company systems used to track business transactions
• Represent the customer inside the company, with a focus on improving the customer experience
• Collect and analyze customer data to understand changing needs
• Travel to customer sites approximately 10% (car or air, occasional overnight), including conferences and trade shows
• Other related duties as assigned

WHAT YOU NEED

• College degree (bachelor's preferred) and/or 2 years of account management experience
• 2+ years of working knowledge of steel and steel processing preferred
• Knowledge of sales, marketing and organizational administration principles
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business information
• Ability to present information and answer questions from management, customers and employees
• Comfort calculating proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume; basic algebra and geometry
• Working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; comfortable using the internet for competitive and market research
• Strong listening, speaking, writing and phone/email skills; customer focused and detail oriented
• Valid driver's license

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Primarily general office, with short periods in the warehouse checking stock and order status (dust, dirt, heat, cold, high noise)
• Sitting, standing, bending, reaching; occasional lifting up to 40 lbs
