Account Manager

The Account Manager will serve as a customer advocate and internal execution leader, acting as the voice of the customer within Amphenol and representing Amphenol professionally to the customer. The role combines elements of account management, project management, customer service, business analysis, and early-career sales development. The individual will support critical customer needs, build relationships with external customers, and coordinate closely with Product Managers, Sales, Field Applications Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, and other internal functions.

This is a highly visible, hands-on role for an outgoing, detail-oriented, and action-driven individual who is eager to learn how the business operates and how to move priorities through the organization. The successful candidate will attend customer and internal meetings, capture decisions and commitments, maintain action registers, drive owners and due dates, escalate barriers appropriately, and help ensure commitments are executed. Performance will be measured against established annual objectives and, where applicable, feedback from internal and external stakeholders.

ROLE OBJECTIVES

  • Strengthen customer confidence by providing responsive, accurate, and consistent support.
  • Create internal accountability by translating customer requirements into clear actions, owners, timing, and follow-through.
  • Develop a working knowledge of Amphenol processes, products, business units, manufacturing sites, and decision pathways in order to make things happen internally.
  • Build the commercial, technical, and relationship-management skills required for potential progression into an FSE or other sales role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Know assigned customers, key contacts, projects, products, applications, critical demand, commercial priorities, and business environment.
  • Act as a reliable point of coordination for customer needs while ensuring communication is aligned across Sales, FAE, Product Management, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, ODM/CM partners, and global production sites.
  • Attend customer and internal meetings; prepare relevant information, take clear notes, document decisions, record actions, assign owners and due dates, and distribute concise follow-up summaries.
  • Maintain action-item trackers and project plans; follow up persistently with owners, identify gaps or missed commitments, and escalate risks early to drive accountability and execution.
  • Support customer programs from opportunity and qualification through launch, production ramp, and ongoing account support, coordinating schedules, deliverables, samples, pricing inputs, forecasts, and issue resolution as required.
  • Support customer activities and help resolve delivery, quality, inventory, forecast, demand, and other time-sensitive issues in an international environment.
  • Handle requests from Sales, customers, ODM/CMs, and production teams across multiple global sites using a data-driven and analytical approach.
  • Develop credible monthly forecasts for key accounts, analyze changes and risks, challenge inputs when needed, and help ensure data integrity.
  • Prepare customer updates, dashboards, presentations, meeting materials, and management summaries that clearly communicate status, decisions, risks, priorities, and required actions.
  • Learn internal systems, approval processes, organizational interfaces, and escalation paths; use that knowledge to remove roadblocks and accelerate response and execution.
  • Build relationships with customer engineering, sourcing, operations, and program contacts while supporting senior sales and technical leaders in account development activities.
  • Identify potential opportunities, customer pain points, competitive information, and unmet needs; communicate insights to the sales and product teams and assist with follow-up.
  • Participate in customer visits, business reviews, product discussions, and other commercial activities as experience grows.
  • Demonstrate ownership, urgency, sound judgment, professionalism, and a willingness to take on increasing customer and commercial responsibility.

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will be able to manage multiple customer and internal priorities in a time-sensitive environment while maintaining a high level of detail. Strong organization, follow-through, data analysis, concise communication, and the ability to convert discussions into completed actions are essential.

  • BS degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Marketing, Customer Service, Sales, Planning, Program/Project Management, Finance, or a related customer-facing or cross-functional role.
  • 1+ years of experience in an electronic components or manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills, including the ability to prepare concise meeting notes, action summaries, and executive-ready updates.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, PivotTables, charts, and presentation development.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize complex work, manage action registers, follow up across functions, and drive commitments to closure without direct authority.
  • Comfort interacting with customers and senior internal stakeholders, asking clarifying questions, and escalating issues professionally when needed.
  • Analytical, curious, proactive, and commercially minded, with a genuine interest in learning products, applications, customers, and the sales process.
  • Team-oriented attitude with the capacity to learn quickly and operate effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to travel as needed, up to 25%.

PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES

  • Experience supporting global customers, manufacturing sites, ODMs, or contract manufacturers.
  • Exposure to electronic components, interconnect products, power solutions, data center, cloud infrastructure, or other technical markets.
  • Experience using CRM, forecasting, ERP, project-tracking, or business-intelligence tools.
  • Interest in developing toward a Field Sales Engineer role that combines customer relationships, commercial ownership, technical learning, opportunity development, and account growth.

SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE

  • Customers and internal stakeholders receive timely, accurate, and well-organized communication.
  • Meeting commitments are documented, owned, tracked, and closed with fewer missed actions or surprises.
  • Customer risks and internal execution barriers are identified early and escalated with clear facts and recommended next steps.
  • Forecasts, trackers, presentations, and account information are complete, accurate, and decision-ready.
  • The individual steadily expands customer knowledge, internal influence, commercial judgment, and readiness for broader sales responsibility.
