Job description:

  1. Develop and manage a national sales pipeline of utility accounts, owning the full sales cycle from prospecting and relationship development through contract execution and purchase order.
  2. Build strategic partnerships with utility decision-makers, presenting consultative solutions that address infrastructure, energy efficiency, and long-term operational needs.
  3. Drive sales of lighting products and turnkey solutions by delivering compelling proposals, educating customers on lifecycle cost savings, and securing preferred vendor relationships.
  4. Collaborate with engineering and project teams to scope solutions, coordinate implementation, and ensure a seamless transition from sale through project delivery.
  5. Monitor market trends, utility funding opportunities, and capital planning initiatives while maintaining accurate CRM records, sales forecasts, and representing the organization at industry events.

  • Relationships within utility key accounts, operations, or procurement

 

Requirements:

  • Must have (5)+ years selling B2B in utilities, energy, electrical infrastructure
  • Must be proficient with CRM tools
  • Must be familiar with how IOUs, EMCs, and municipal utilities buy/purchasing process
  • Must understand how utilities evaluate capital equipment: rate recovery, depreciation, energy savings, co-op member economics.
  • Must have experience selling fixtures, hardware, and services/solutions.
  • Must be able to present product specs, photometric data, and ROI models to engineering audiences.
  • Familiarity with utility procurement vehicles, co-op purchasing programs, and energy efficiency incentive structures.
  • Travel required 40% – Events nationwide, visiting sites, etc.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
