An Exciting Opportunity:

Spectrum Chemical is expanding and seeking dynamic outside sales reps for various territories (Houston (TX),

Seattle (WA), NYC (NY), Long Island (NY), north NJ, Buffalo (NY), Washington D.C., Virginia, Indiana, Atlanta (GA), Louisiana, St. Louis (MI), Ohio, Chicago (IL), Minnesota, Sacramento (CA), San Francisco (CA), and Los Angeles (CA) areas with a track record of increasing sales and exceeding plan in his/her territory consistently to join our team.

Our sales force has the unique opportunity to sell a large variety of compendial chemicals, laboratory products, and

custom process solutions in their territory to virtually any industry. While Spectrum serves a number of markets, our sales force has great success, specifically servicing accounts in the Laboratory, Industrial, Pharma, Biotech,

Cosmetics/Personal Care, and Med Device spaces. and other FDA-monitored industries. As indicated, this role is field-based and as such, the expectation is that sales calls are face to face with customers in the field; phone and TEAMS meetings will also happen outside of those field visit requirements. Field visits must be weekly and consistent. Visits should be documented in CRM and Concur Mileage app should capture travel automatically for expense report management.

Core Role & Responsibilities

  • Territory Management: Face-to-face, in-person meetings are a requirement of the role and as such, daily travel within the territory is an essential expectation of the job. Outside sales reps are expected to have no less than 12-15 in person meetings with customers per week.
  • Work closely with customers to better understand their specific needs and ways in which Spectrum's vast

portfolio and capabilities can meet their needs. Drive sales growth across all channels and sales segments,

including Bulk, Prepack, and Supplies Sales.

  • Grow sales opportunities year-over-year and support; develop new sales business in territory for existing

customers. Partner with distribution sales team to increase company opportunities.

  • Facilitate a minimum of five distributor meetings per quarter (emphasis on follow up meetings post

introductions); attend tradeshows within territory regularly.

  • Work dynamically utilizing the company CRM system on a daily basis for data entry of customer and sales data, enabling sales leadership to support commercial opportunities and sales pipelines.
  • Learn and understand Spectrum internal processes in an effort to field simple requests.

Work with your manager for quarterly customer visits.

  • Equip customers with marketing materials highlighting key products and company capabilities (value

propositions).

  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams to better understand new products in order to develop sales

approach with customers.

  • Act as an independent, self-starter who is both team and customer-focused; able to work within a close-knit

team environment. Microsoft Office package/excellent PC skills

  • Perform other duties as required

Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or the life sciences required;
  • OR at least 5 years of direct sales experience specifically in the lab chemical industry.
  • Minimum of 3 years of successful outside sales experience, with at least 2 years in chemical sales; experience in med-device and other scientific products is a plus.
  • Ability to travel weekly to/from customer accounts within territory.
  • Experience with cGMP, ISO, and change control processes would be a plus.
  • Ability to apply account development strategies from R&D to Process Development to Production to QC.
  • and lift/carry between 25-40 lbs.
