Overview:

Consider joining the Metal Exchange family as an Account Services Representative at our St. Louis, MO location. The Account Services Representative (ASR) is a detail-oriented and customer-focused team member that plays a critical role in supporting our trading operations.

 

This position sits at the intersection of traders, customers, and internal operations, ensuring the seamless execution of contracts and transactions across the supply chain. The ASR is a key contributor to customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and the overall success of the trading business.

Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, delivering responsive, professional, and consistent communication.
  • Partner closely with traders to support the execution of commercial transactions and customer specifications & requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage the full lifecycle of contracts, ensuring accuracy and timely execution across internal systems and external partners.
  • Monitor and facilitate shipment activity, including:
    • Shipment readiness and scheduling
    • Documentation collection and verification
    • Contract matching and updates within systems of record
    • Shipment settlement in accordance with business rules
  • Collaborate with internal teams (logistics, credit, operations) to resolve issues and ensure smooth transaction flow.
  • Work with the Credit team to monitor customer accounts and ensure adherence to credit limits and policie.s
  • Proactively identify and resolve execution issues, including discrepancies and claims (in coordination with traders).
  • Perform administrative and operational tasks related to shipment and contract processing, including data entry and documentation management.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and workflow efficiencies.
  • Support team operations by acting as a resource for peers and contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Participate in ongoing process improvement initiatives and operational enhancements.

Qualifications:

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service, back-office operations, or a related field.
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with transportation, logistics, or supply chain processes is preferred but not required. 
  • Experience in a trading or commodities environment is beneficial but not required.

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with a professional, solutions-oriented approach.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Has effective communication skills across internal teams and external customers.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorships are not available. 
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and assessment.
  • Must have regular attendance and be able to work onsite in our St. Louis, MO office.

Our salary ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations.
