The role will also serve as back‑up support in similar areas for the other plant locations. We are seeking a Staff Accountant or Senior Accountant; title to be based on work experience.Primary Duties / ResponsibilitiesLead monthly close for the MD manufacturing plant, including the timely and accurate preparation of financial statementsReview and record inventory transactions for receiving, production disposition and other inventory activity for the MD manufacturing plant; analyze variances and work with plant personnel to identify and report on trends and resultsProcess payroll for the MD plant weekly using our third‑party payroll provider (Paychex)Manage accounts payable for the MD plant by receiving vendor invoices, completing the three‑way match and obtaining approval for payments from the relevant authorized purchaserEnter approved invoices in company's ERP system (IQMS) and process MD check runs on a weekly basisAssist with year‑end close process, including annual review with external accountantsParticipate in general accounting operations, including but not limited to cash application, customer pricing updates, fixed asset management, account reconciliations and other related tasksSupport Accounting Manager and team with other duties, as assignedEducation / ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Accounting required0 – 7+ years of experience in AccountingERP system and general ledger management experience a plusExperience utilizing a payroll system (Paychex, ADP, etc.) a plusGood Excel skills with proficiency using pivot tables, look‑up functionality and formatting of reportsBase knowledge of accounting procedures, principles and regulations (GAAP)Experience with manufacturing environment, including cost accounting, a plusStrong attention to detail and work ethic requiredConsistent performance to follow tasks and projects through to resolutionSelf‑starter who seeks out opportunities to help rather than waits for roles to be assignedFlexible and willing to accept multiple projects and change directions quicklyComfortable in a small office and team settingPhysical Requirements & Working ConditionsAbility to be onsite at Hagerstown, MD facility.
