Accountant IILocation: Akron Children's Hospital (Various Locations)Job Type: Full‑Time, 40 Hours/WeekSchedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.Hybrid: onsite 2–3 days per week.OverviewThe Accountant II provides advanced accounting functions including financial and statistical analyses, preparation and submission of financial results, and monthly review and analyses for Akron Children's Hospital and its subsidiaries. The role is integral to the monthly general ledger closing and reporting of Children's operations in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. The position may also provide training, guidance, and support to lower‑level financial positions.ResponsibilitiesPrepare and post general ledger entries in conjunction with monthly closing processes and reconcile general ledger accounts.Perform accounting close responsibilities as required and administer and maintain sub‑ledgers and processes including financial and statistical information.Interact with internal and external auditors on a routine basis.Assist with general ledger analysis including account reconciliations, monthly and period‑end closing, ad‑hoc reporting and analysis, and year‑end audit schedules.Ensure departmental and organizational compliance with current accounting standards, hospital policies, and applicable laws and regulations.Other duties as required.Technical ExpertiseExperience in accounting is required.Ability to function proactively in a demanding environment is required.Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.Experience in healthcare is preferred.Proficiency in MS Office (intermediate proficiency in Excel and Word) and work proficiently in an ERP computerized system.Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Accounting is required; Master's degree is preferred.Certification: CPA is preferred.Three years of relevant experience are required.Years of experience supervising: None.Job Function and IndustryFunction: Accounting/Auditing and FinanceIndustry: Hospitals and Health Care#J-18808-Ljbffr
