Position Overview We are seeking a General Accountant to join the accounting team of an established international manufacturing company in the Memphis area. This position will support the month-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, forecasting, and general accounting functions. Key Responsibilities
Support the monthly closing process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Prepare and reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
Perform monthly variance analysis against budget and forecast.
Assist with quarterly forecasting and annual budget preparation.
Support inventory and standard costing activities.
Assist internal and external auditors with requested financial information and documentation.
Participate in the company's future transition to SAP S/4HANA.
Prepare various sales, expense, and financial analyses as needed.
Work with other departments to research and resolve accounting issues.
Cross-train on additional accounting functions and provide support to the finance team as needed.
Support company safety and quality initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
1–3 years of accounting experience preferred.
Manufacturing accounting experience preferred.
Exposure to standard costing and inventory accounting is a plus.
Chemical industry or international business experience is a plus.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
ERP system experience preferred; SAP experience is a plus.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
