Position Information
Job Title: Accountant
Salary: $55,000 or higher, depending on experience
Job Description: To assist with the analysis, correction, and balancing the general ledger, prepare journal entries and journal voucher corrections, assist with asset management, deposit grant payments into the grants management system, and complete budget updates for payroll (department budget table). All duties will be performed for Minot State University and Dakota College at Bottineau.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare journal entries, spreadsheet imports, and journal vouchers to correct, record general ledger activity as needed
Investigate discrepancies in funds, student accounts, etc. as needed and take action to see proper steps are followed in correcting any errors
Assist with year-end financial reporting
Balance specific funds
Assist with analyzing, interpreting, and reporting financial data including comparing budget to actual
Assist in training department personnel to run various financial reports
Support and execute ad hoc projects as needed
Ensure compliance with proper accounting methods, policies, and procedures
Gather information for financial and operational audits
Other duties as assigned
