Job SummaryThe Staff Accountant function offers the opportunity to work with all departments and levels of the organization, contributing to the overall growth and success of the company. This position requires a high degree of confidentiality. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Safety StatementAll employees shall follow safe practices according to the injury and illness Prevention Policy (IIPP), render every possible aid to safe operations, and report all unsafe conditions or practices immediately to any management employee or People Operations.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAccounting and Financial ReportingMaintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.Manage corporate accounting for portfolio of small companies in the hospitality, winery, and media industries.Cash management for multiple companies.Reconcile balance sheet account activity monthly for multiple companies.Prepare monthly accruals and amortizations.Journal entry posting and subsidiary ledger posting/reconciliation to GL.Set up new vendors and customers into ERP System.Support monthly financial analysis and review of financials and annual budget process.Ensure integrity of accounting and financial information.Review and approve reports, reconciliations, schedules, analysis and other data as necessary to ensure accuracy of financial information.Serve as backup for Fixed Asset Accounting including, placing new assets into service, facilitate capital project approval process, prepare Fixed Asset and Depreciation schedules.Annual winery product costing.Other ProjectsSupport of accounting systems, including ERP, expense management, and accounts payable software.Work with Controller on special projects, as the need arises.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis job has no direct supervisory responsibilities but may serve as the backup to the various positions in the event of an absence.Job RequirementsEducation/ExperienceBachelor's degree (B.
