Accountant

Solid Chops Accounting is the premium accounting firm working exclusively with nonprofit organizations in South Tacoma. Our services include bookkeeping, payroll services, month end close processes, financial statement preparation and tax services.

Due to demand, we are expanding out team in hiring a full time Accountant to join our team to work with multiple nonprofit clients. Ideal candidates will be able to juggle multiple priorities, while managing client expectations. We work with multiple software products including: Excel, QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Xero, Gusto, Dropbox, Google Drive and a multitude of donor management softwares. Nonprofit and multi-client experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform month end close duties for multiple nonprofit clients
• Analyze general ledger accounts, making appropriate journal entries for prepaid expenses, depreciation, deferred revenue and accrued payroll liabilities
• Create financials and management reports
• Manage grants for clients, including planning, tracking and reporting
• Assist with client budgeting and forecasting
• Coordinate with coworkers to manage client audits and reviews
• Assist with client bookkeeping, as needed

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of accounting experience
• Experience working with account software such as QuickBooks Online or similar platforms
• Proficiency in spreadsheet creation, modifying and analyzing (Excel and/or Google Sheets)
• Experience working in a multi-client environment
• Experience working with nonprofit organizations
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to learn quickly and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to work independently as well as being part of a team
