Job Summary:

The Accounting Associate plays a vital role in maintaining the financial integrity of our organization by ensuring that all financial data, reports, and transactions are accurate, compliant, and timely. This position supports the accounting team in managing invoices, payments, and client financial statements while assisting with budgeting and financial analysis. You'll help transform raw financial data into meaningful insights that guide more intelligent decision-making and support our mission of empowering small businesses and community-focused organizations through transparent and accountable financial management. What You'll do:

  • Collect and organize client financial data for analysis and reporting.
  • Ensure financial statements comply with GAAP and accounting standards.
  • Manage invoices, vendor payments, and expense reports.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow).
  • Monitor budgets and track spending against projections.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Support bookkeeping and internal accounting processes and projects.
  • Contribute to overall financial reporting and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Recent undergraduate student or graduate.
  • Bachelor's or master's in Accounting and/or related field.
  • Certifications in Accounting.
  • Strong communication skills, organized, and time management.
  • Fully remote — no travel required. Preference for candidates located in New Jersey.
  • No prior experience required — all are encouraged to apply.

Technical Skills:

  • Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
