Job Description
Harvard Resource Solutions is hiring an Accounts Payable Specialist to provide support in Birmingham, MI. You will assist a growing, innovative property development company in paying vendors and subcontractors on time and accurately.
POSITION TYPE: Full Time. In office daily. Monday through Friday 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
3-month contract. Possibility of extending longer.
Job Responsibilities
Responsible for ensuring that invoices are accurately processed and paid in a timely manner across multiple locations and business entities.
Process and accurately classify invoices in the accounting software. Ensure invoices are coded to the correct general ledger account and business entity.
Review invoices to ensure they have been properly approved by the appropriate property or location.
Prepare vendor payments by utilizing discount opportunities, verifying federal ID numbers, and scheduling payment runs.
Resolve purchase order, contract, invoice, and payment discrepancies and maintain appropriate supporting
documentation.
Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
Calculate and report applicable sales tax requirements based on paid invoices.
Investigate discrepancies and work with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues in a timely manner.
Assist with other accounting and administrative duties as needed.

Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, nice to have. High School diploma or GED required.
3-5 years of accounting experience, which includes performing accounts payable activities.
Able to process payment runs, reconcile statements and provide support for vendors.
Hospitality or restaurant accounting experience required.
Experience supporting multiple locations, properties, or business entities helpful.
2 years of experience with Restaurant 365 (R365) accounting software experience would be a major plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Excel and an Accounting or ERP System.
