    Description

    Accounting Manager

    Our client is hiring for an Accounting Manager in Atlanta, GA. This is a great opportunity to join a growing real estate investment and development company, managing a team of three accounting professionals while reporting directly to the VP of Accounting. The Accounting Manager will oversee the month-end close process, review financial statements and property management deliverables, and manage construction draw processes with lenders and investors. This role also involves close collaboration with Asset Management, Development, and executive leadership to ensure accurate, timely reporting. It's an excellent fit for a hands-on leader with real estate or construction accounting experience who wants to help build scalable processes as the company's development pipeline grows. This role is fully in office.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including investor reporting, budget-to-actual analysis, and cash flow reporting
    • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements prepared by the team, ensuring GAAP compliance
    • Mentor and develop a team of three accounting professionals while reviewing monthly reporting packages from third-party property managers
    • Oversee construction draw processes, coordinating with lenders, developers, and investors on funding timelines

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
    • CPA preferred (or significant progress toward licensure)
    • 5-7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including prior team management
    • Real estate, multifamily, BTR, construction, or property accounting experience strongly preferred
