Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accurate and timely completion of journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
Oversee preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP
Review and approve general ledger account reconciliations prepared by Staff and Senior Accountants
Manage, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, providing coaching and performance feedback
Partner with FP&A to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors, preparing audit schedules and supporting documentation
Research and document technical accounting issues under current ASC guidance
Maintain and strengthen internal controls in alignment with SOX requirements, where applicable
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy of the close cycle
Support system implementations or ERP upgrades as needed
Assist with special projects, including M&A integration, entity consolidations, or new business unit reporting
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA strongly preferred
6-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including prior supervisory or management experience
Public accounting background (Big 4 or national/regional firm) strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial statement preparation, and internal controls
Experience with SOX compliance and SEC reporting a plus
Proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, growing environment
Preferred Attributes
Experience managing a team of 2 or more accounting professionals
Industry experience in [e.g., real estate, financial services, wealth management, property management] a plus
Track record of process improvement and driving efficiency within the close cycle
