Job Details Location: Spokane, WA 99201Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00Travel Percentage: 0 - 10%Job Category: Corporate SupportJob Purpose SRM is seeking a skilled Development & Construction Accounting Manager to oversee accounting and financial reporting for development and construction projects, ensuring accurate project financials, job cost reporting, and timely month‑end close processes. This role partners closely with project teams, FP&A, and Treasury to support financial controls, reporting consistency, and overall project financial performance, while also leading and developing the project accounting team.Job Duties & Responsibilities Oversee the full project accounting lifecycle for development and construction projectsTrack and manage predevelopment and capitalized project costsMaintain project cost coding and ensure accurate allocation of expensesAssist with construction draw accounting and lender reporting requirementsMonitor and track job costs, change orders, and work‑in‑progress (WIP) schedulesSupport revenue recognition processes and prepare accurate job cost reportingCoordinate monthly close activities and prepare project financial reportingPartner with Project Managers to support project tracking, forecasting, and variance reportingMaintain and enforce financial controls and accounting compliance standardsCollaborate with FP&A and Treasury teams to support overall financial operationsEnsure consistency in accounting practices across development and construction activitiesManage and support project accounting staff, including training and performance oversightSupport internal and external audits and provide requested financial documentationRequired Skills & Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field5+ years of construction or project accounting experience2+ years of experience managing and developing accounting staff or teamsStrong understanding of construction accounting principles, including job cost tracking, WIP schedules, revenue recognition, and project financial reportingAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast‑paced environmentStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to executives, project teams, and external partnersProficient in Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Excel capabilitiesStrong organizational skills and attention to detailPreferred Skills & Experience Experience in real‑estate development and construction environmentsWorking knowledge of Vista Spectrum, NetSuite, and YardiCPA certificationPhysical Requirements This position is an office‑based role that will require frequent sitting and computer use.Travel 0-10%Benefits The base salary for this position in the Greater Spokane area is $90,000 - $120,000.
