Constellation Search Group is looking for an Accounting Manager for a full-time direct hire position. This role involves performing complex accounting and financial functions while supervising a team of accounting professionals. Key responsibilities include overseeing daily accounting operations, maintaining general ledger entries, and managing month-end close activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, analytical, and organizational skills, with a focus on project and construction industry accounting.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Prepare and post complex journal entries, accruals, and reclassifications.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and audit schedules.
- Determine proper sales and use taxability for projects and ensure timely filing of returns.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Provide oversight for job costing and variance analysis.
- Supervise vendor invoice processing, verify accuracy, and ensure timely payments.
- Oversee fixed asset accounting, including reconciliations and depreciation entries.
- Mentor and develop accounting team members, providing training and performance feedback.
- Act as subject matter expert for the ERP system, leading optimization efforts.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper divisional and tax coding.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years of public accounting experience.
- Construction industry accounting experience with knowledge of percentage-of-completion accounting.
- CPA or CMA designation preferred.
- Technical accounting knowledge with proficiency in GAAP standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with construction accounting software and ERP systems.
