The Company operates with a high-performance, investor-grade cadence weekly flash reporting, monthly branch financial reviews, and board-level KPI accountability ensuring management and Percheron Capital maintain real-time visibility into operational and financial performance. Alloy is entering an exciting phase of accelerated organic growth and M&A activity, and is building the financial infrastructure to support it.
The Role
The Accounting Manager is a key leadership role within Alloys finance organization, owning the monthly close and technical accounting for a portfolio of branches. Reporting to the VP of Finance, this person will manage and develop a small accounting team, ensure the integrity of branch-level and consolidated financials, and serve as a hands-on technical resource as Alloy continues to acquire and integrate new branches.
This is a builders role in a fast-moving, PE-backed environment: the Accounting Manager will help design and enforce close and reconciliation methodology, drive standardization across newly acquired branches, and partner closely with FP&A and branch operators to keep the numbers accurate, timely, and audit-ready.
Primary Responsibilities
To be successful as Accounting Manager at Alloy Roofing, you must be able to:
? Own the monthly close process for assigned branches, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and technical accounting judgments; ensure a consistent, audit-quality close calendar is met.
? Manage and continuously improve the job-level revenue/COGS reconciliation methodology across branches, ensuring job cost data ties cleanly to the general ledger.
? Review and approve staff-prepared balance sheet reconciliations (cash, AR, AP, intercompany, prepaid/accrual rollforwards); resolve escalated reconciling items.
? Supervise, train, and develop Staff Accountants; manage workload and deadlines across the close cycle.
? Serve as a key resource on post-acquisition integration opening balance sheet true-ups, due-to/due-from Seller reconciliation, and chart of accounts alignment within 6090 days of close.
? Support the consolidation of branches onto NetSuite as the single general ledger, including data validation and process standardization.
? Manage the accounts payable function and cash disbursement process for assigned branches, including vendor relationships and AP aging.
? Partner with FP&A on variance analysis, flash reporting, and monthly branch financial reviews, providing accounting context for operating results.
? Maintain and enforce internal controls; ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP across assigned branches.
? Support external audit, tax, and lender reporting requests with well-organized, audit-ready workpapers.
? Identify and lead process improvement and automation opportunities across close and reconciliation workflows, including deployment of AI tools.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate possesses the following:
? Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance; active CPA license required.
? 58 years of progressive accounting experience, including multi-entity, multi-location, or high-growth operating environments; public accounting (audit) background a plus.
? Strong technical U.S. GAAP knowledge and demonstrated ownership of a full monthly close cycle.
? Demonstrated experience with post-acquisition financial integration opening balance sheets, chart of accounts migration, and reporting standup a strong plus.
? Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or equivalent); hands-on implementation or migration experience a plus.
? Prior supervisory or team-lead experience, with a track record of developing junior accountants.
? PE-backed, multi-unit, or fast-growth company experience strongly preferred.
? Expert-level Excel skills; comfortable working with driver-based, branch-level financial data.
? Demonstrated interest in AI and automation tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT) to improve team output and close efficiency.
? Highly collaborative, deadline-driven, and comfortable operating with a builders mentality in an evolving, resource-constrained environment.
